News Article: Exams watchdog plans A-level reforms to curb persistent grade inflation

The coalition government continues in its determination to make exams more rigorous.

As a nation, it is very hard to reconcile our ever-improving exam results with the fact that we are falling further down the international league tables for education.

Our children need to be given opportunities to compete within the global community, particularly as communications technology, such as the internet, allow employers to give jobs to anyone in any country.

As other countries rise above us in educational terms, we compromise our children’s chances of success.
